Hi everyone! Happy Fall Equinox and Harvest Moon!

http://www.spiritualityandpractice.com/books/images/photos/essentialmarcusaureliuslrg.jpgI'm pleased to announce the Spirituality, Empowerment, and Wellness Book Club has 87 people on our mailing list, and our Facebook group has 100 members! Not bad for just being just 1 1/2 years old!

Thanks to you all for making the SEW Book Club a happening thing... :)

Here's all 20 books we've read so far:

We have one more week left reading our latest selection,
the Essential Marcus Aurelius. If you've been away
for a while, come back and join the discussion. Don't worry
if you haven't read the book!

We are considering books on EFT, Byron Katie, Permaculture, Daniel Quinn's Ishmael, Anastasia by Vladimir Megré, and another book from the Abraham/Hicks series. What do you think is a timly book fitting our theme?

Here is an empowering thought, which I was discussing with Kathleen, one of our regular members.

That's the most important thing, I think. That you can change your thoughts. The thing is, many people I meet believe their thoughts are things.

An example: I was talking to a friend today, and he was talking about how some people are REALLY stupid!!

I felt a twinge in my belly. Ouch. So many people have called me nasty names, I feel ill whenever I hear any human or animal spoken about like this.

"There is no such thing as a stupid person," I said.
"Yes there is!", he argued.

I proceeded to show him:
"Stupid" is not a quality of the other person, it is a judgment in you!

I think he eventually got it, I think. Which is cool!

When we see "stupid people", talk about "stupid people"
we really create them, unconsciously.
We see an external thing called "stupid person",
unconscious of the fact:
This is a thought!

Here we are confusing a thought for a thing.

We think the things we see (coming in through our 5 sense-doors) are real,
when they are really thoughts, which we project outwards.

As you know, there is real metaphysical power in learning how to use this. It's the secret to alchemical transformation. Things really are thoughts!

So if we can carefully control our thoughts, with various yogas, kriyas, sadhana practices, our experience of external "things" will be completely different!  More empowering, and happier.

OK, see you Sunday, at 1pm!
