Eight Unpleasant Truths about Science

  1. Science is never really certain about anything.

  2. Science can never show cause, only correlation.

  3. Science is haunted by irreconcilable paradox.

  4. Science is based upon unprovable axioms
which much be taken on faith.

  5. Science cannot really prove the most basic thing,
                    like 1+1=2
  6. Science sometimes generates meaningless gibberish,  like
    1/0
... a phrase which is so dangerous  and subversive as to be forbidden from usage!

  7. All scientific truths are falsifiable, and therefore, suspect.

  8. Science is utterly amoral.

Are we sure we want to "Trust the Science"
with important decisions affecting many living beings
in Four Directions and through Seven Generations?

  1. Science is never really certain about anything.

Almost by design, yes, because science is not a belief system, it is a process of discovery through observation.

Science can never show cause, only correlation.

Whilst I'm glad to see someone who knows the difference between cause and correlation, that's fundamentally wrong. If cause/correlation is to be found, it will be found through evidence and observation...aka the scientific method.

Science is haunted by irreconcilable paradox.

No, it really isn't. Science is haunted by hypothesis, while we try to learn what is what. Many of these hypothesis are dealing with problems even my mind cannot comprehend, never mind yours.

Science is based upon unprovable axioms which much be taken on faith.

Again no. Science is forever moving forward and has kept changing it's view based on the evidence given. Faith on a current model is foolish, but it happens in some individuals, as is their right to believe so.

Science cannot really prove the most basic thing, like 1+1=2

Of course it can, and you're talking about hypothetical mathematics.

Science sometimes generates meaningless gibberish, like
    1/0
... a phrase which is so dangerous and subversive as to be forbidden from usage!

It might be gibberish to you, but some basic understanding behind it will *cough* ENLIGHTEN *cough* you to it's use. Also there was some irony in that last sentence, maybe you might be smart enough to pick up on it. And yes, I know the true definition of irony.

All scientific truths are falsifiable, and therefore, suspect.

No they are not. You are spreading misinformation on circuit boards, technology is science. You are doing this ON science

    Science is utterly amoral.

Yes, there are no morals in science. But scientists are moral.

  2. Technology is not science.
How a man can work on internal combustion engine and at the same time be moral?
Science is based upon unprovable axioms like evolution's survival of the fittest.
When they (so called scientists) say "we have solved one problem", it means that they have just produced ten new problems.
Science is a belief system based on the belief of "we can know everything as God knows".
Through scientific efforts we can only see 'some' of the correlations. And it is 'insufficient' to make a decision. In the long term 'we hurt the future generations'.
A hypothesis is a lie based on unquestioned lies.
There is no scientific truth. Truth does not have anything to do with science.

And yes, I am a terrorist, I mean a Muslim.
