Hot Stuff! The US has 700,000 tons of Radioactive
Depleted Uranium in storage. It is a major WASTE DISPOSAL problem. (source: http://www.nrc.gov/materials/fuel-cycle-fac/ur-deconversion/faq-depleted-ur-decon.html )
So if
you can find a way to make something useful out of it, GREAT!
If you are using DEPLETED URANIUM in the manufacture of CONTACT LENSES,
EYEGLASSES, Aircraft Counterbalance Weights, Mirrors, or Shipping Containers, this is
considered an "unimportant quantity of source material" and is exempt
from an NRC license. -- see: 10 CFR § 40.13 (c)(7)(ii) ....
Have a Nice Day!
