FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE!
Urgent bulletin for all NY State Citizens
esp. in the So. Tier "Sacrifice Zone"...

Has your town passed a JLCNY Resolution?
Or REFUSED to pass a moratorium?

Put them on notice!

Has your town passed a resolution which says

"We trust the DEC and the SGEIS", or

"We promise not to pass a ban or moratorium"

or "We give up our HOME RULE POWERS
to the State" (or the Gas Industry)

or "Please Frack OUR TOWN FIRST!"

Then it is very important that you
PUT THEM ON NOTICE!
Or, have you presented your town
with informational sessions with experts,
petitions for a ban or a moratorium,
yet they still have done nothing?

Then, PUT THEM ON NOTICE!

If there is a clear and present danger
to the health and safety of their town
then it is THEIR DUTY under the Constitution
and their oath of office to ACT to PROTECT THE TOWN.

If thy do not, then they are violating
  • their oath of office,
  • the NY Constitution (equal protection)
  • and they are violating their entrusted duty to protect the people of the town.

Please Read the brilliant argument from Northrup:
SHORT and SWEET:

SEND YOUR BOARD THIS LETTER.
Send by certified mail, return receipt requested.
Followup with emails, and phone calls.

Please help get this on all NY listservs,
blogs, and social media ASAP.

Subject: Put Do-Nothing Towns On Notice

People in towns that are reluctant to do anything about shale gas
should put their boards and supers on written notice
- before permits are issued

Town boards have an obligation to protect town roads, homes and water sources.

The DEC cannot protect any roads.

The DEC will not protect homes and water sources.

This includes towns that do nothing - as well as ones that pass 'frack us' resolutions

James Northrup

Have a look at this map. If your town is Red or White, you may be safe for now.
If your town is magenta (pink), your town has a moratorium (safe for now).
ANY OTHER COLOR: Put your town on notice!
If your town is solid green and in the So. Tier over shale,
then your town is especially at risk
