RAGE! BANG! KERSPLAT! DESTRUCTION!
My dear friends:
I know this to be truth:
If you are ever tempted
to make a big public spectacle,
proclaiming,
"OH! Look how I am suffering!!"
as I have done, and
as I have witnessed others doing
Please realize now
before the erupting of crisis
this is based on a false notion of ego
I-ness = That a separate, enduring self exists.
This can be easily demonstrated to be false.
This simple truth, called anātman in Sanskrit
had been known by our human ancestors
for at least 2,500 years.
Perhaps 4-5,000 or longer.
This wisdom was forgotten
for a great Dark Age,
where the ego was worshiped
and there was so much suffering.
I know this to be true:
That it is in fact the EGO
one's false notion of self
which is the actual cause of suffering
and not whatever or whomever
one is pointing one's finger towards.
You are -- I am --
We are all Divine Beings of Light!
We are intimately connected to The Field.
The Field is Boundless + Full of energy!
What you confuse to be your "Self"
You Body -- Your Job -- Your Title -- Your Home
Your Spouse -- Your Indulgences and Habits
-- Your Pain -- Your Things ... on and on
is really impermanent. Not enduring.
What is really there
behind your eyes
is "the ever-present witnessing awareness"
it is consciousness.
And it can be shown
at a very fundamental level
the very fabric of the Universe
is a Field of Consciousness.
Here is the truth!
This field -- the REAL YOU -- IS enduring!
Once your ignorance is cured
and you learn of your Divine,
Eternal and True nature
You will realize:
No one can hurt you!
You can be free of all suffering.
When you know your true self,
You will be filled with incredible happiness!
Not unless you want to play out a little drama.
In this world.
Pretend to be a Self.
Give away you power to another.
Play out the little passion play,
Endure the waves of immense suffering,
Cover up in Shame, Point fingers in Blame.
And then Seven Deadly Sins:
lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy and pride.
And then Fear! So much fear.
...and then... if left unchecked...
CRISIS!!!... acting out... sometimes.... violence
It is best to contemplate this NOW,
before there is a crisis,
because violence is a likely outcome of crisis.
We all want to avoid that.
Cultivate Loving-Kindness for all creatures.
Cultivate Forgiveness and Repentance.
Cultivate the Seven Heavenly Virtues:
Humility against pride,
Kindness against envy,
Abstinence against gluttony,
Chastity against lust,
Patience against anger,
Charity against greed,
Diligence against sloth.
We are all One.
May all Beings be Happy!
