Fwd: SEW Book Club starts up again Tomorrow, Sun Sept 5, 1pm

Hi all!

http://www.spiritualityandpractice.com/books/images/photos/essentialmarcusaureliuslrg.jpgAfter a short hiatus,
the SEW Book Club will start up again
Tomorrow, Sun Sept 5, 1pm
River Read Books, 5 Court St. Downtown Binghamton

If you haven't been in a while, (or ever!)
now is the time to start up again!

We are reading the book,
The Essential Marcus Aurelius
which is about the great Roman Stoic emperor and philosopher.

We will discuss how the highest Stoic virtue, "apatheia"
is also found in many world religions, by many names:
equanimity, dispassion, upeksha, hashlamah, non-attachment (esp. to emotions),
allowing, patience, acceptance, observing w/o reacting.

This is the antidote to Craving & Aversion, Greed and Hatred, Attachment and Resentment.
