As you know, I advocated for the current moratorium and a revamping of our current SGEIS. Clearly, the DEC's draft SGEIS was rushed and in many ways flawed. That's why I and 13,000 others made substantive comments in an attempt to improve the document. The comments also set in motion a series of peer reviewed scientific studies on, for example, groundwater contamination. We are a long way from those studies being completed, especially in light of the staff cutbacks at DEC. Meanwhile, I have already begun serious conversations with Andrew Cuomo's team regarding the dSGEIS. And I'll be working closely with their new DEC Commissioner to determine whether to let the current process play out or start from scratch. Please do not misinterpret my reluctance to sign petitions or letters as a sign of weakness on this extremely important issue. I happen to be inside the actual process, acting responsibly, and caring deeply that we exercise caution every step of the way.
