The mighty Susquehanna River
is one of the world's most ancient rivers.
It is older than this continent.
These waters have been flowing unimpeeded
for more than 200 million years.
This water is the source of all life here.
Without this water:
there can be NO LIFE.
Now, tens of millions of gallons PER DAY
are being removed from the river basin
for a completely unnecessary use:
hydrofracking for shale gas.
This water is permanently removed
from the hydrological cycle.
Science can only provide
educated guesses
about what impacts
this could have
upon life in the basin.
The removal of this massive quantity of water
from the basin
could cause massive loss of life
and is therefore NOT in the public interst.
"WHEREAS the signatory parties ... recognize the water ... of the Susquehanna River
Basin as regional assets vested with local, state, and national interest ... declare...
the conservation, ... management, and control of the water ... of the Susquehanna River Basin
...will bring the greatest benefits ... in the public interest."
-- SRBC Compact, preamble
The SRBC meets in just 5 days.
They will be voting on 26 NRE water withdrawal permits
for Hydrofracking totalling millions of gallons per day.

SAY / DEMAND:
"We the People
Residents of these several states
who live within the Susquehanna River Basin
rely upon this water for life.
There have been NO cumulative impact studies done

to this sensitive ecosystem
caused by the permanent removal of this water
from the basin and the hydrological cycle.
Governor / Mr. President:
WE the PEOPLE
expect your commissioner
to VOTE NO
on ALL NEW WATER WITHDRAWALS
for HYDROFRACKING
in the SUSQUEHANNA RIVER BASIN

The last time they met,
this unelected body unanimously approved
of 22 new water withdrawal permits
totaling millions of gallons of water per day,
despite 2 dozen people speaking against these withdrawals.
Unlike golf courses
(where the water consumed remains in the basin),
This water is permanently removed from the watershed
and from the hydrological cycle.
A forest has trees and water.
A desert has few trees and little water.
Hydrofracking removes water
and kills many trees.
Hydrofracking removes
hundreds of billions of gallons of water
per state per frack.
World wide, it's TENS of TRILLIONS of gallons.
This could be a DOOMSDAY SCENARIO.
