URGENT: Take Action NOW to help PROTECT LIFE in the Susquehanna River Basin

The mighty Susquehanna River
is one of the world's most ancient rivers.
It is older than this continent.

These waters have been flowing unimpeeded
for more than 200 million years.

This water is the source of all life here.
Without this water:
there can be NO LIFE.

Now, tens of millions of gallons PER DAY
are being removed from the river basin
for a completely unnecessary use:
hydrofracking for shale gas.

This water is permanently removed
from the hydrological cycle.

Science can only provide
educated guesses
about what impacts
this could have
upon life in the basin.

The removal of this massive quantity of water
from the basin
could cause massive loss of life
and is therefore NOT in the public interst.

"WHEREAS the signatory parties ... recognize the water ... of the Susquehanna River
Basin as regional assets vested with local, state, and national interest ... declare...
the conservation, ... management, and control of the water ... of the Susquehanna River Basin
...will bring the greatest benefits ... in the public interest."

-- SRBC Compact, preamble

The SRBC meets in just 5 days.
They will be voting on 26 NRE water withdrawal permits
for Hydrofracking totalling millions of gallons per day.

WE Need your urgent help.
This River Needs your help.

1: Get this info on every activist list in three states: PA -- NY -- MD
2: Call the governors of 3 states plus the White House EVERY DAY until Thursday.
3: Get to the meeting on Thursday in Wilkes Barre, PA 8:30 AM.

Here are the numbers to call:

State
Governor
Phone
PA
Tom Corbett
717-787-2500
NY
Andrew Cuomo 518-474-8390
MD
Martin O'Malley 410-974-3901
US
Barak Obama 202-456-1111

SAY / DEMAND:

"We the People
Residents of these several states
who live within the Susquehanna River Basin
rely upon this water for life.

There have been NO cumulative impact studies done
to determining the possible GRAVE DAMAGE
to this sensitive ecosystem
caused by the permanent removal of this water
from the basin and the hydrological cycle.

Governor / Mr. President:
WE the PEOPLE
expect your commissioner

to VOTE NO
on ALL NEW WATER WITHDRAWALS

for HYDROFRACKING
in the SUSQUEHANNA RIVER BASIN
until a cumulative impact study is made."

We have just Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday
to perform a miracle.

I have witnessed several miracles lately!

Please make 4 phone calls EVERY DAY
1: PA 717-787-2500
2: MD 410-974-3901
3: NY 518-474-8390
4: White-House 202-456-1111

Each of these days:
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

BE THERE:
SRBC

Thursday Dec 15 / 8:30 am
Best Western East Mountain Inn,
2400 East End Boulevard (Route 115)
Wilkes-Barre, PA

The last time they met,
this unelected body unanimously approved
of 22 new water withdrawal permits
totaling millions of gallons of water per day,
despite 2 dozen people speaking against these withdrawals.

Unlike golf courses
(where the water consumed remains in the basin),
This water is permanently removed from the watershed
and from the hydrological cycle.

A forest has trees and water.
A desert has few trees and little water.

Hydrofracking removes water
and kills many trees.

Hydrofracking removes
hundreds of billions of gallons of water
per state per frack.

World wide, it's TENS of TRILLIONS of gallons.
This could be a DOOMSDAY SCENARIO.
