Subject: EMERGENCY RALLY in Binghamton: No Sacrifice Zone!
Governor Cuomo: NOT ONE WELL!!
Please join us on February 12th at 2pm in the Community Room in the State Office Building (44 Hawley Street, Binghamton, NY; Enter the State Office Building, and take an immediate right through the cafeteria) for a rally directed at Governor Cuomo: We will not be your guinea pigs for a human fracking experiment!!
Governor Cuomo is rumored to be floating a plan to drill between 10 and 40 test wells in the Southern Tier before the regulations are complete, with the intent of "studying" the effects. This is obviously at direct cost to our health and our communities. We will not allow ourselves to be a test case for a proven toxic industry!!
The reason for the short notice is that we just learned of the possibility of this plan. Governor Cuomo is set to make a decision by February 13th, and we can influence his decision before that point.
Speakers include Dr. Sandra Steingraber, Craig Stevens and others TBD!
