ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
These classes will be taught by Heather Lee Schroeder, who has

Yes, this is the home paper of John Nichols, one of the most progressive
voices in the media today and in the media-reform movement.
Heather will be teaching how to perform Values-Based Journalism,
which is a form of advocacy journalism, but grounded in sound reporting.
These classes are FREE, but a donation of $5-$10
is suggested and would be gratefully received
to help cover her time/materials.
There will be 1 hour breakout sessions each day:
Day 1 I will teach an optional track for video production.
Day 2 I will teach an optional track for audio production
(radio, podcasting, audio-for-video).

Do you doubt the legitimacy of citizen journalists?
Then check this decision
by the US Appellate Courts for this region:

to record matters of public interest and conduct of public officials
and reporting such is within the public interest.

Glad you're arming citizen journalists. We're here to help as well with our new book, "Handbook for Citizen Journalists." We would love to send you a complimentary (pdf) copy and a link to some reviews of the book. It is the ONLY book written FOR citizen journalists and not just ABOUT them.
